Bugis+ Food Trail 2013: Seoul Yummy

The seventh food stop for that day. This restaurant has an open-air concept.

annyeong haseyo~

While waiting for the main dish to arrive, let's have some side-dishes first!

peanuts, kimchi, beancurd shreds, tofu, anchovies (rather salty) and spinach

If still feeling peckish, why not have some starters; tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) and kimchi pancake.

kimchi pancake (@$6.90++)

The thin kimchi pancake was rather enjoyable. Not that spicy as compared to tteokbokk. If you're like me, and don't fancy that much carbs, how about some meat? Braised pork belly with kimchi, to be precise.

braised pork belly (@$8.90++)

Loved the braised pork belly. Fatty and tender. Simple dish. Yums. Another dish that we got to try, was the samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup).

ginseng chicken soup (@$24.90++ for whole chicken or $15.90++ for half)

The soup was simple, flavourful and adequately salted but the best part, would be the glutinous rice inside.

Next, the highlight of the table. Army stew! There are two types; assorted meat (including spam or luncheon meat!) or seafood. In it, one can find ramyun and rice cakes as well, besides an assortment of vegetables and tofu. Eat already sure filling!

The seafood stew was shiokingly nice! Spicy with a kick and full of umami. Nyam nyam! The stew's portion would be good enough to feed 3 pax, I think.

If you intend to dine there, do enquire about their set meal promotions (if applicable):
