Been using it and loving it. Last year, on one birthday celebration alone, managed to save about $92 with the Entertainer app. Sweet. What's more, for a limited time only, you too could enjoy this app for a low price of just $60 (usual $75)!

Guests were treated to canapés and Lime House Classic Punch. Music was loud, food was flying off the trays and everyone had a drink in their hand.

In case you're wondering, the folks here at Lime House uses Mount Gay rum which is said to be the oldest existing brand of rum in the world.

the happy bros who made the drinks - Thanks for being such a sport!

I think I tried fish, curry (goat?) and chicken. Well, it was dark in there and the rum was pretty strong...

Jerk chicken meat was flavourful and the sweet potato puree was so good.

Also managed to get some ice-cream from Marble Slab. Tried the salted caramel and the red velvet. Nice.

Esmirada @ Orchard | The Entertainer App

0 comments
Located near Orchard Hotel, it was quite a distance from Orchard MRT. Head towards Shaw at Lido, and along Delphi. Christmas season, so it was time for gatherings!

Place was dark and cosy. Thursday nights were fairly relaxed.

candelight dinner?

Happy Hour (HH) sees 1-for-1 drinks, so got myself a Sangria. Margarita and mojitos qualify for HH promo as well. Their version of Sangria is less sweet.

Sangria @$17++ (1-for-1 during HH)

Since there were just the three of us, we ordered 2 mains and 2 tapas to share.

Chorizo Sausage @$14++
Grilled Squid @$14++

Am not a fan of chorizo, so no comments. Salty sausages with wine, was alright. Squid was slightly tough but had an enjoyable flavour, with a touch of salt.

Next up, Paella Valenciana. Portion was ok to be shared comfortably amongst 2 pax.

Paella Valenciana @$35++

There were prawns, mussels, chicken bits and pork. Rice grains were moist. Those at the bottom would be slightly scorched, so do mix it up earlier. Flavours were pleasant and not too sourish. Appetizing and lines the tummy.

Lamb chop skewer was a sight to behold. Very medieval looking kind of dish, with the chops hanging off the skewer. Served with 3 dipping sauces (tomato, yoghurt and tartar/sour cream?) and one baked potato.

Lamb chop skewer @$38++

Lamb chops were just seasoned simply with salt, and its meat was so tender. Nice. I think I like Josper grilled food~

The baked potato was nicely done and good for those whom are still peckish.

Thanks to The Entertainer App, we saved $35.

Seafood Valenciana was free~

Thanks Gina and Flo for the lights, otherwise, the photos would be too dark! Have a Merry Christmas!

Total spend was $45+ per pax, inclusive of the 2 drinks.

The Cornerstone @ Bishan Park 2 | The Entertainer App Singapore

0 comments
Located at Bishan Park 2, just a short distance from the carpark. Was there on a wet evening. With a few more minutes remaining on Happy Hour (HH), we got ourselves a glass of red (Chilean wine).

Cabernet Sauvignon @$12++ and Merlot @$10++ during HH

Ordered a mushroom risotto and a half BBQ chicken. The risotto was pretty creamy and liked that the grains were adequately cooked. Good to share amongst two pax, otherwise could be quite 'jelak'.

mushroom risotto (vegetarian) @$23++

country style smoked BBQ chicken (half) @$18++

The chicken was quite enjoyable, especially the dark meat portion. Also had an extra order of french fries with 3 dips. Think there were tartar, mayo and one with cheese. But french fries taste better, if eaten with ketchup.

The place is pet friendly and patrons were seen with pet dogs at the al-fresco area.

Expect to spend about $45 per pax. With The Entertainer Singapore App, we saved $18 from our bill.

La Barca Ristorante & Wine Bar @ Goodman Arts Centre

0 comments
Located within Goodman Arts Centre, which is off Fort Road and Mountbatten Road on the East Coast.  For location and parking, please refer to this link: http://labarca-sg.com/location/

This place is one for special occassions. Was there to celebrate a dear friend's birthday. Reservation was easy via Hungrygowhere's online reservation system. Confirmation was pretty immediate.

As with any celebration, there is a need for some wine. Birthday girl likes prosecco, hence we had that.

Prosecco @$70++
Happy Birthday!

Once orders were placed, out came the complimentary breads, alongside with butter.

breads

Such cute looking breads. The larger one seemed to have cocoa. It helped to keep the hunger at bay while we waited for the mains. Similarly, ordered a Pizza Prosciutto to share.

Prosciutto Pizza @$28++

The pastas arrived within 20 minutes. Portions was slightly dainty for a main course.

Fresh Homemade Green Angel Hair Pasta, Baked with Fresh Milk Cream, Prawns, and Baby Spinach @$32++
Venetian-style Risotto Mantecato with Cuttlefish, in Cuttlefish Ink @$32++
Fresh Homemade Pecorino-filled Tortelli with Parmesan Cream and Seasonal Truffles @$42++

All the pastas were good. The one that stood out, was the Tortelli Truffle. It was completely enveloped in cheese and one bite into these babies, first thought was "Soooo good!" But, there were only so few of it. Only managed to grab half a piece... =(

The Angel Hair Pasta was nicely creamy (but not heavy) and pleasant with the spinach. Prawns were succulent and fresh. Risotto was well-cooked and not too salty.

For meats, we had seabass fillet and pork shank.

Seabass fillet @$40++
Braised Pork Shank in Chef’s Special Sauce with Mushrooms and Potatoes @$40++

While the pastas generated quite a buzz within our group, the meat dishes were just alright. Seabass fillet was light and mild, while the pork shank was quite a rustic dish, with earthy flavours.

Added another order for a 1kg Florentina and we were duly informed that the cooking time for this dish was about half hour. Fine with us, as this meant we had more time to chit-chat and to catch up. =)

This place offers wine of the month for both red and white at about $55 per bottle, so we decided to try the red to complement the red meat.

Wine of the Month (red) @$55
ruby red, pleasantly smooth with a bit of spice and mature tannicity

The Florentina is done medium rare, using Australian beef from Rangers Valley.

Traditional Fiorentina Served with Roasted Potatoes @$13 per 100gms (min. 1kg, 2 pax)

Cannellini Beans with Sage and Fresh Chilli

I think we didn't care much for the beans. Beef was tender and has good flavours, especially for those done medium rare and with a bit of fats. The parts that were more of medium doneness, was pretty chewy.

close up on the meat

Service staff was pleasant and helpful.

La Barca is currently one of the participating merchants of the Entertainer App 2014, and we were able to redeem the 1-for-1 main course deals here. Sweet.

This place is suitable for special occassions and the occasional indulgence.

Well, how about a chic restaurant at Duxton Hill for contemporary Indian cuisine? Introducing Saha Signature Indian Restaurant & Terrace Bar @ 9A Duxton Hill (2nd floor, because 1st floor is Buyan, a Russian dining place).

Why Saha? Because it is running a time limited 2-for-2 indian tapas promotion when one uses The Entertainer voucher.

Promo @ Saha

The restaurant is very near the public car park at Duxton Hill. Look out for its blue sign-board.

you've arrived
up to second floor

Let's take a look at some of the Indian tapas in tasting portions.

Khasta Roti Tacos [Vegetarian] - Amritsari chickpeas, avocado salsa and  sour cream
The chickpeas were pretty prominent in this dish. One mouthful and its gone. Nice presentation.

Top: Baked Samosas Triangle [Vegetarian] - Potato, cashew and green peas filling, chutney foam

This must be the flakiest samosas that I've ever tried thus far. Baked and not deep fried. Healthier and equally as tasty.

For drinks, I'd like to have a cocktail please, and they have plenty.

Indian Mojito

Easy to drink, refreshing but not overly on the leaves. Sweet but not too sweet.

There's an interesting mocktail where its infused with cigar smoke. Yep, you read it right. Cuban cigar smoke! This drink is a varietal of Bloody Mary. Abit too funky for me though.

jar of mystery - can you see the smoke?

 Back to more tapas. Pashmina chicken. Subtle flavours, moist tender chicken.

Pashmina Chicken Supreme Kebab - Mace and cardamom marinade, toasted pistachio, saffron sauce

Saha is helmed by Chef & Chef Patron Abhijit Saha, who holds the prestigious title of ‘The Best Chef of India’ 2013, brings forth regional Indian cuisine with modern cooking techniques and presentation. Expects a blend of traditional and modern, executed with sophistication.

All the mingling and chatting made me thirsty. Time for another drink. A visit to the bar!

Cryo Pomergranate Margarita

Loved the strong margarita. Quite yums, especially with the salt. More please!

If you can only have one tapas, make sure you try the Prawn Milagu Roast. Fresh firm succulent prawns, lovely strong flavours. Goes well with cocktails.

Prawn Milagu Roast - Crushed black pepper, onion, tomato, curry leaves

One last drink, the Compressed Watermelon Martini. Another yummy drink. Premium ingredients, sweet and refreshing. Watermelon with salt is always good. Nice and cool for a humid warm evening.

Compressed Watermelon Martini, with sea-salt foam

So hurry down to Saha to redeem the 2-for-2 Indian tapas before 1 October 2014! With the savings, you might want to get one cocktail (or two), from the bar. Cheers!

All these, shall be possible with 'The Entertainer Singapore One Month Mobile' downloadable from here and apply this code: @purpleeats
