[Staycation] Momentus Hotel Alexandra @ Alexandra Rd

Second time at this hotel, the first being in Nov 2024 and this time round in Mar 2025. Here's my experience.

Last year, was upgraded to Club Room and this visit, was upgraded to Queen Premier room, thanks to GHA Discovery.

Check-in at hotel lobby may take slightly longer, especially if you're redeeming Discovery dollars. Was attended by Gino (2024) and Miko (2025). Both are friendly and efficient.

For check-out, you can opt to do that at Level 19 if you have access to Momentus Club Lounge.

The room size and arrangement/layout at Level 18 and Level 13 that I stayed at, were the same. Bed and pillows were comfy. Shower strength was good and strong. Hot water came on quite fast.

Air-conditioning controlled via a control pad, seemed to take a while to adjust to the desired temperature. There was one time I was awakened as the temperature became too warm as the air-condition seemed to have stopped during the night.

Housekeeping staff was nice and they'll greet the guest if we happen to pass by, vice-versa as well.

Momentus Club Lounge (Level 19)

Non-alcoholic refreshments are coffee, tea, soft drink and bottled juices (apple, orange, cranberry).

Evening Cocktail

During evening cocktail, there's light canapes, cheese and very small selection of dessert are available and alcoholic drinks include liquor like tequila, rum, campari, whisky, wine (white, red, prosecco) and beer.

chilled wine and beers

Self-serve at the lounge and if one need any assistance, there was at least one staff available to assist.

Tried the Momentus Lager this time round, and I liked it! Brewed for Momentus by 1925 Brewing Co. Sweeter than lychee lager and similarly refreshing. Yums.

Momentus Lager

chicken yakitori, sausage, pita bread with hummus, mala chicken with jelly fish, olive with ham, prawn pizza with a glass of Prosecco

watermelon, honey dew, cheeses (cheddar and brie) with dried fruit

chendol pudding

I remembered being disappointed with the food selection at the lounge in 2024. Though the selection remained small in 2025, I was happy with the taste this time round. The chicken yakitori was pretty good. The mala chicken with jelly fish was mild but interesting. Pizza was a tad burnt, but that was my fault as I took the too-charred piece.

Enjoyed more of the fresh watermelon with the cheeses this time round. The pudding with local flavour was lovely too.

evening view at the lounge

Day 2 evening cocktail selection

The next day evening cocktail had char siew, otah toast, boiled pork belly, vietnamese wrap (lettuce, vermicelli and prawn), and mini shephard pie. The wrap was nice with the sweet chili dip though some was just vege and vermicelli. I was informed that the mini shephard pie is a popular item. I agree that warm potatoes with meat sauce, was hearty and goes well with the alcohol.

Cabernet Sauvignon

stronger flavours with the red wine

Happy to see De Bortoli wine here. Had visited De Bortoli Wines in Yarra Valley last year but I think I didn't try Cabernet Sauvignon then. Liked the taste of red berries, smooth with balanced tannins. Easy to drink.

Day 2 dessert - mini mango cake and pandan chiffon

Breakfast

terrace roof

Breakfast was at the Momentus Club but I ventured to its next door, I think it was called Terrace Roof (or something similar?) to have a look. The place is an open air area (non-air conditioned) and felt nice to sit there to enjoy a bit of the morning sun.

enjoy morning view

Okay, back to the lounge for breakfast.

The self-serve selection was smallish but adequate. There's a bread corner with some pastries, normally there's carbs such as potatoes, or rice, or porridge. Meat such as sausages or rendang. Boiled eggs are readily available. At the other end of the room, there's usually fruits, salads, and cheese and sometimes cake. But there's definitely fruits and cheese.

One could also inform the staff for other eggs selection if one does not fancy the hard boiled eggs.

lounge, daytime view

orange juice, chicken porridge, pastries, bacon, sausage (pork and chicken) and coffee

I was up early on a Saturday morning for breakfast, and Queenie was nice to help make a cup of coffee. Didn't eat much as I have a lunch appointment at 12pm that day.

Was happy to see chicken porridge and the usual condiments like salted egg, pickled vegetable, spring onion, and sesame oil. The porridge was tasty on its own and the embellishments added more oomph to this comforting bowl.

yummy porridge

Croissant was nice with salted butter and jam.

western styled breakfast - baked potato, chicken sausage and croissant (with butter and jam) were the star

let me enjoy the mini tiramisu squares

Day 2 Breakfast

omelette

all in

I think it was a 2-eggs omelette and usually with all things (capsicum, mushroom, cheese, tomatoes, ham) included.

Day 2 breakfast had some new items. First time seeing putu mayam served for breakfast in a hotel.

There was beef rendang that tasted as good as it looked. Pretty delicious. Ivan was on duty that day and he was helpful and attentive to guests.

Day 2 breakfast - putu mayam, beef rendang, croissant, sausages, sauteed mushrooms, watermelon slices

tuna tataki with lettuce

mini pain au chocolat and croissant

Interestingly, the croissant was not served for their daily lunch semi buffet at Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie but the rustic cranberry bread was available for both.

Birthday Staycation @ Pan Pacific Singapore

Back at this hotel after 3 years. Read more about previous stay experience here. Some rooms have been refurbished since then, but funnily, I was upgraded to a room that's not. Haha!

Anyways, decided to book the Birthday Treat package as I hadn't been making use of this privilege even though it was part of the member's benefit for the GHA Discovery programme.

Checked-in at 11am on a Friday, and was attended to by Anson. He was friendly, efficient and offered his help to redeem the Discovery Dollars. Thank you Anson for your help! Was upgraded to Pacific Club Room, so that was nice.

This time, the room was located at Level 26 which is the same level as Studio 26 where guests staying at the Executive Marina Rooms could access for light refreshments and pastries.

I was checking out the room when the doorbell rang. Staff brought me a tray of things, complimentary as part of the birthday package and Discovery welcome amenities.

birthday cake (chocolate)

The birthday cake was nicely moist and not too sweet. Goes well with a cup of coffee.

Was exploring the room and found an interesting booklet on Sleep. Apparently one could order a cup of hot milk to aid in sleep. Wanted to make use of this interesting benefit but forgot to do so during my stay. Next time, I'll try it!

In-room dining menu was provided via the physical copy as well as the digital copy one could find from the TV menu, or the scanning of a QR code on a card located at the side table.

Drinking water is supplied/topped up daily even though the drinking water dispenser is also available in the bathroom.

The complimentary mini-bar was fully stocked and it has sparkling water, coke zero, red bull, sprite and orange juice. Replenished daily too.

Afternoon Tea

From 3pm to 5pm, guests in Pacific Club Rooms could access Level 38 Pacific Club Lounge for afternoon tea service.

Level 38 Pacific Club Lounge

The pastries, cakes, salads are available as self-serve (buffet) style. And, sometimes staff may come by with a trolley of specials (food or tea) to introduce to the seated guests.

savouries

I liked that there were savouries and sweets available for guests. There's also potato chips/local crackers like muruku as nibbles.

Bacha Coffee

sweets

chendol dessert

pulut hitam dessert

Quite liked the theme of local flavours for the sweets. There were some options for vegetarians as well but do be aware that some may still contain eggs/dairy.

savouries

For savouries, usually there's mini pies/quiche, and dumplings of sorts. The prawn fritters were pretty good.

minestrone

The tangy appetizing flavours of the minestrone soup was good. I had more of this as well.

pretty plate

For drinks, I loved their freshly squeezed juices, and the green apple was nicely sweet.

Evening Cocktail

Available from 6pm to 8pm for guests with Club access.

fruits

charcuterie and cheeses

salad, ham and Tropical Breeze cocktail

The crab salad was pretty good and beef pastrami was flavourful. Thought the beef pastrami looked dry, but it was surprisingly good. The virginia ham was nice too. Unfortunately, I didn't like my drink because there was something in there that reminded me of cough syrup.

chendol panna cotta and fried shrimp fritter

meatball, roasted chicken and mussels

The roasted chicken was the least enjoyable as it was tough and slightly dry.

Champagne Breakfast

Available from 7 to 1030am, guests with Club access will be able to enjoy Champagne Breakfast here. If you opt for breakfast at the Edge (which you could), just be aware that the free-flow champagne is excluded there.

good morning

breakfast menu

omelette, french toast, Champagne and coffee

There are also cold cuts, smoked salmon, salad, cereals available on a self-serve style, so feel free to eat to your heart's content! But then, who can eat that much in the morning. Ok, I take that back. Judging from the countless mukbang videos, I think everyone else can eat alot anytime of the day. Hahaha!

build your own breakfast

Virginia Ham

Pan Pacific does pretty good hams and sausages, so I'd sample some of those when I see it for breakfast, or evening cocktails, or even at the Edge buffet.

If you're having french toast as secondary plate, it would be better to place the order later. I made the mistake of ordering it too early and the bread ended up as less enjoyable as it stayed out for a tad too long.

Pengat Pisang Brioche French Toast

Loved the pengat pisang (banana verrine) and the coconut ganache on the french toast. The bread was a tad too thick for my liking. No extra syrup is required.

assorted sausages, bacon and ham

DIY nasi lemak with sausages and chicken rendang

The chicken rendang was good. Nicely tender and the sauce flavourful. Not too spicy. Even the sambal was leaning towards sweet, savoury rather than spicy. Liked the pork sausage more than beef sausage.

Tried Potato Waffles and Caviar and it turned out to be a good choice. Nice pairing for the champagne too.

The potato waffles on its own was mildly sweet. Not too heavy for breakfast.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Pan Pacific this time round and also thank you to Discovery for the upgrade to Pacific Club Room.
