Was staying at the
hotel and since I hadn't set foot to this hotel restaurant at Level 7, suggested Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie as our lunch venue. Wendy was agreeable, hence a reservation was made for 2 pax for lunch.
Interestingly, the hotel website's restaurant reservation link indicated no tables available. Then, used Chope and voila, there's table available! Hmm, does this mean there are certain numbers indicated to each reservation platform?
The restaurant is accessible immediately after one step off the lift at Level 7. Go through the restaurant door, and that'll be the pool area as well as the Verandah Poolside Grill space.

It was a Saturday, and we were going for their daily Semi-Buffet Lunch from 12 noon – 2:30pm. The staff led us to our table and suggested that we could order up the main course first before helping ourselves to the buffet tables. Drinks is not included in the semi-buffet lunch and we were informed by the staff that there's an option for unlimited drinks; juices, coffee/tea option for a top-up of $8++. Otherwise, tap water was served as well.

Wendy decided for the fish option while I opted for their signature rotisserie chicken (half). Staff was funny and helpful as she informed us that there's no need to order pizza since pizza is available via the buffet table. True to that statement but then, why not suggest to the chef/management for the pizza option (mains) for semi-buffet lunch to be switched out to something else.
Then, we went round the buffet section to have a look.

I didn't realise it then, but the selection of food and desserts on that day do differ quite vastly from the semi-buffet lunch menu. The main course options are as stated in the menu.
 |
must-try - kombu truffle butter |
 |
country bread - cranberry |
After spending like less than 10 minutes walking around the buffet table, our main course had arrived.
Main Course

Fish of the Day - Seabass with mildly spicy sauce |

Signature Rotisserie Spring Chicken |
The staff who took our order warned us that the sauce for the fish was spicy. I had a bite of Wendy's fish with some of the sauce and the sauce was more tomato-ish and spice level was just 0.1? Hahaa! I liked that the fish was served hot as the chicken was lukewarm.
I think I had expected more for the 48 hours citrus brined, 12 spice marinade chicken as it tasted pretty mild. It wasn't exceptionally tender/moist and it was healthy tasting.

let's start with kombu butter and toasted bread

 |
salad with beef strips, parmesan and croutons - plated by Wendy |
In general, majority of the buffet items tasted mild and healthy. Flavours were subtle. Perhaps that was why I enjoyed the kombu butter the most. Even had it with the rotisserie chicken! Also enjoyed the chicken meatballs and the pasta.

waffle with chocolate (from the choco fountain) |

mini cakes and chendol pudding |
The cakes and pudding are the same as the ones I had at Level 19 at the Club Lounge. Take the ones not so close to the top of the coolant as those tend to be a bit dry.
There was an event at the hotel on that day, and the participants lunch were at the buffet hence, the pizza seemed to be popular amongst that group that day. Not to worry as the items were replenished fairly quickly.
Overall, I liked the concept of the semi-buffet as the price was reasonable and there's always something in the buffet that may catch your fancy.
One thing to note is that if you're swimming or is at the alfresco area, you might not want to put your food at the table unattended as the birds might be the ones enjoying their buffet on your plate...
