Visited Bird Paradise at 20 Mandai Lake Road recently and here's some photos of the experience. I took a Grab and was dropped off at the Exit B drop-off point. My first visit!
Just follow the clear signage to Bird Paradise. It will be about 10 minutes to get to the entrance to Bird Paradise from the drop off point. One would need to take the escalator up.

If you're interested to find out what are the scheduled feeding times or show, the Mandai app has these information plus, one could navigate towards those places with their navigator map.
Was there at about 9+am, and the first feeding scheduled was at 930am, so just nice to slowly walk over to the first aviary.

| first encounter of Red-winged Starling |
Smaller birds perched on the ledge was nothing new but how about a full grown duck, and a small flock at that!
 |
| Hartlaub's duck |
Was supposed to walk past them with their bums facing me but one of them decided to turn around and we locked eyes. Kind of like he was staring at me and vice-versa and maybe, just maybe he was deciding if he should just fly towards me when I walked past.... and can you guess the outcome? Of course, he decided to fly across when I was nearer. Hahaa!

| Laughing Dove |
 |
| red crested turaco in between of two gray parrots |
 |
| Speckled Pigeon |
It was nice to be able to see the different species of birds appearing left and right, some on trees, some on ground and some coming so close to the humans.
All that glitters, may not be gold. I loved how the plumage of certain bird species shines so beautifully under the sunlight.

| Victoria crowned pigeon |
 |
| oh, so close to humans |
Saw a Victoria-crowned pigeon that was rather clingy to the staff and would follow the staff around.
 |
| nicobar pigeon |
 |
| so pretty! |
Nicobar pigeon is said to be the closest living relative to the extinct
dodo! Hmm, can you see any resemblance? Ahhh, it's DNA relation and not physical traits resemblance.
 |
| feeding each other, so cute~ |
Then, it was lunch time, so we headed back to Penguin Cove, which is the top spot to go to if you want to have some respite from the heat and sun!

It felt a tad like a food court where one gets a buzzer to collect the food when it is ready at the food collection point. Self-service for the cutlery, paper napkin and sauces at the sauce counter.
 |
| Apple and Yuzu juice @$6.80 |
 |
| breaded chicken cutlet with fries @$20.90 |
If you want your lunch with an added cutesy touch, go for the Arlo's set.
 |
| Arlo's Chicken Karaage Curry Rice Set @$28 |
 |
| Penguin Igloo Potato Salad (comes with the set) - cheese ball with olives, honey dew and potato salad |
 |
| dessert (comes with the set) - iceberg chocolate crunch cake |
 |
| Penguin tiramisu @$9.90 |
Hmmm, the breaded chicken cutlet was rather bland tasting as the chicken meat itself was not marinated. The mushroom sauce was good though. The curry rice was nice but the entire set came with lots of rice and pretty filling with the potato salad as well.
I enjoyed the tiramisu and the latte here.
There are dive tanks for the penguins that is visible from within the restaurant but the penguins rarely made a dive while we were there.

| penguin watching |
Outside the penguin cove, there's a nursery where one could see baby birds in there. There are also enclosure nearby for rarer birds.

Birds of Paradise Gelato
Decided to get gelato before leaving so off to BOP to get some. Ordered single scoop with cone. My friends had the lychee raspberry.
 |
| Cone with single scoop (sea-salt hojicha) @$7.50 |
Ordered via the kiosk, and brought the ice-cream to their indoor area with air-conditioning to enjoy the cool treats. The classic thyme cone was something that I hadn't eaten for quite some time.
It was a fun day, with a sprinkling of rain, lots of bird watching and comfortable walking.
