Loved that the promo menu consists of all-time favourite such as the Half Crispy Pork Knuckle! This had gotten me really excited as Starter + Pork Knuckle for just $25+ ? No way! But it really is true, so don't miss this!

Courtesy of Gilbert and friends at M Social Beast and Butterflies, I have had the good fortune to taste the new dishes in the menu. To start, we had the Nicoise Salad and Quinoa Tabbouleh.  I really had no clue to what's a Tabbouleh except that it sounded darn healthy! Actually, it is a healthier choice. Originated from the Middle East, it is a vegetarian salad.

Quinoa Tabbouleh تبولة‎ (UP $14+)

Am most surprised by the portion of this item. Indicated as a Starter, but boy... the portion is like a main course on its own. Wow!

The Quinoa Tabbouleh has a lovely balanced flavours and visually, it looked like a beautiful garden. It made me happy to be eating something as colourful as this!

If you're afraid that quinoa might be a tad too filling, then Nicoise Salad would be a lighter healthy starter. There's mesclun, french beans, quail eggs, tuna chunks, cherry tomatoes, white anchovies and idaho potatoes with basil oil dressing.

As for the mains, we got to try the Parma Ham and Burrata Cheese Tartine, and Kurobuta Claypot Rice.

Get ready with a glass of wine, and sink your teeth into the fully loaded Parma Ham & Burrata Cheese Tartine. Chew and savour the flavours. Perfect with a sip of crisp white wine and a little tête-à-tête.

You must be wondering, what is this Kurobuta Claypot Rice? Let me show you...

Kurobuta Claypot Rice (UP $18+)

It looked like an indulgent version of "lu rou fan" (卤肉饭). The container was pretty deep, and the amount of rice would be enough to feed more than 1 pax. There were condiments provided, in case one would like to break the richness of the dish.

luscious runny yolk

Gave it a good stir and mixed it well. The braised sauce was superb and wished there were more. The rice towards the bottom were missing out on the sauce! Will recommend to heat up this dish before digging in. If you are expecting wok-hei from this dish, don't. I know I did as the "Claypot" in its name gave that sort of expectation. Nevertheless, it was a hearty and enjoyable rice dish!

Happy to know that one of the dish that I had missed the most since the first visit, the flavourful Salt Baked Flower Crab is included in the delivery menu! Yay! Will have it for the next round, maybe with one of the affordable bottles. Hehe! At the moment, am also awaiting for their classic KL Hokkien Noodles to be included. Then, it'll be an order to reminisce the classics.

For food that are 'saucy' like the fish head curry, it was evident that extra care was put in place to prevent spillage. Lovely and shows that the restaurant is considerate towards their diners. Thank you!

Traditional Fish Head Curry 亚参鱼头 @$28+/$50+ (half/whole)

Would recommend the Traditional Fish Head Cury. Am impressed with the sauce. Lemak, rich and with a nice spicy punch. The half a head was meaty and fed 2 pax adequately. If there are leftover sauce, it'll make a nice dip for bread too!

I was having a zoom dinner session with my colleagues and showed them the charcoal tofu. They were rather curious about the taste and it made me realize that not many have tried this before! The tofu was well-fried and it was still beautifully intact when arrived. However, the enoki mushrooms can't be compared with dine-in as it had turned soggy. I liked the light savoury sweet sauce for the tofu.

The Salted Egg Yolk Prawn with Italian Sauce had a curious name. Like, what's an Italian Sauce doing in a zhichar dish! Hahahaa. I think the Italian sauce here is the Golden Sand sauce that we usually see for the crab dishes. Truth be told, I thought it was just a thicker version of salted egg yolk sauce.

Venison with Ginger & Scallion 姜葱鹿肉 @$18+

An enjoyable meal of zichar favourites. If you can take spicy, go for the Traditional Curry Fish Head.

NUDE Seafood - Surprise Birthday Treat from Friends

My friends sent me some food today from NUDE Seafood, so here are the photos. Most impressed with the careful packaging for the burger. The homemade yoghurt bun seemed light but pretty filling in da tummy. The burger patty was a tad too pink for my liking, but it was surely moist and juicy! Expect messy drips of the srirachi aoili. Suggest to share this with a friend or family, as it may be a tad too much for one pax. Ideally, to pair it with a glass of wine or ice cold beer.

There was also the Signature Hickory-smoked Salmon, which I've tried before. This time round, it came with black forbidden rice and grilled cauliflower.
